Student Work – Ben Suarez

Pe, 18.05.2012 - 22:46

Designed by Ben Suarez | Country: United States

“I wanted to take a different approach to skateboard product packaging and make them a bit more mature and clean. I strayed away from the usual bright and flashy style that we are used to seeing and created it with more of an industrial and ever so slightly grunged up appearance.”

Melo

Pe, 18.05.2012 - 22:45

Designed by Imagemme | Country: United States

“Here at Imagemme, our vision was to create an innovative package that immediately resonated with the refreshing taste of watermelon. With Melo, we wanted to mesh together the purity of the product alongside clean, eye-catching design. Being that sustainability and healthy packaging are priority, Melo’s bottle is BPA-free. The soft lines and curvature of the bottle is an homage to the watermelon, a refreshing, but exciting muse.”

Padrillos

To, 17.05.2012 - 00:17

Designed by Diego Ballester | Country: Argentina

“Imagine a herd of wild stallions galloping over smooth, white hills, their black coats reflecting the light of the moon. This very image lived inside winemaker Ernesto Catena’s mind, and kept his primal attachment to land and nature alive during his time as a university student. After years of travel, when Ernesto planted his vineyard in Mendoza, “Padrillos” was born. These intense wines express the primordial forces latent in our fertile land, and the wild spirit of Argentina’s true varietals.”

Student Work – Dan Hinde

“D&AD challenged students to create a new brand of Scotch whisky, this included naming the brand, an identity design, packaging and a container. My response is Flora & Fauna, a Superior Scotch inspired by the Miracle of Mother Nature.”

Dark Matter

Ma, 14.05.2012 - 21:28

Designed by Astronaut Studio | Country: United States

“Sure you COULD Photoshop coffee grounds into Pegasus form. But wouldn’t you rather dump some grounds on the table and do it yourself? It took longer, yes, but pushing grounds on paper with an X-acto blade tends to be a much richer experience than pushing pixels with a cursor.

Dark Matter is a custom blend of small-batch roasted coffee with original package design developed as a 2011 holiday gift for Astronaut Studio’s clients, partners and vendors. The image of the Pegasus is actual coffee grounds hand-tooled into the form of a Pegasus. The concept and design is a deliberate play on the agency’s brand identity.”

ByALEX A Range

Ma, 14.05.2012 - 21:27

Designed by Company | Country: United Kingdom

The A Range is a simple furniture based on two interlocking letter As shapes. The range includes a stool, side table, coat stand.

Made from accredited birch plywood and available in white and grey, the A Stool and A Table come in a simple box with a carry-away handle. This is the first flat-pack, carry away furniture sold at John Lewis stores.”

Student Work – Samantha Szakolczay

“For this conceptual project, students were to chose a pre-existing and well-known brand and develop a line of skin care products. The key factor in deciding upon a brand was that it was not currently affiliated with a skin care line of products. The challenge was then to maintain equity within the brand and translate that into skin care.

Altoids has always been a product meant for a mass audience of both men and women. As a largely popular breath mint in the United States, the mint product is slightly more expensive than the average breath mint price. In maintaining such characteristics, Curious is a skin care product that is clinically proven to cleanse and refresh the skin. The product is meant for both men and women and offers skin care products that clean, treat, and sooth the skin.”

Gordy’s Pickle Jar

To, 10.05.2012 - 19:44

Designed by Common Complex | Country: United States

“Our intention was to create a design that celebrated the rebirth of an old craft.  We wanted a design that would feel right at home in a grandma’s kitchen—the kind of grandma that might show you her old biker tattoos while she readies the tea and Sunday paper. Time regained.

Gordy’s handcrafted pickles and preserves are a labor of love. Each thoughtfully designed recipe uses fresh, local produce & responsibly cultivated spices.”

Kiyu Taro

Ke, 09.05.2012 - 20:35

Designed by Victor Branading Design Corp. | Country: Taiwan

“Kiyu Meteorological Station taro production from Jiaxian, Kaohsiung, is an unforgettable delicious snack in the Taiwanese memory. This packaging line boldly attempts to use the product itself different tastes, and does not make sense forming interesting combination with weather images. The changing weather referred to as touched the senses of taste, the spicy taste of mustard make us cry like a rain; spicy flavors makes you stamping like thundering; fragrant curry, such as the beautiful moonlit night, sweet caramel taste is charming sunny; taste mixed with different levels of integration, the taste buds also will comply with the incredible weather to start cross-sensory journey.”

One Less Drop

Ti, 08.05.2012 - 17:25

Designed by Heckler Design | Country: United States

“The product’s mass and shine are its primary selling points. Wrapping it tightly in a clear box was the best way for people to appreciate those qualities.”

Sigtuna Easter

Ma, 07.05.2012 - 10:25

Designed by Morkman | Country: Sweden

“Sigtuna is a micro brewery in the city of Sigtuna, outside Stockholm. The brewery was founded in 2005 by a number of beer enthusiasts. The brewery has received nomerous awards for its beer and the success continues.

The new label design aims to highlight the premium image of the different beers. Today Sigtuna is sold both at the monopoly retailer ”Systembolaget” and the finest restaurants”

Tesco Fresh Fish

Pe, 04.05.2012 - 20:46

Designed by R Design | Country: United Kingdom

“R Design was approached by Tesco to redesign their entire range of standard and standard plus fresh fish that covered over 50 lines.

The idea was to emulate the buzz and atmosphere of a bustling fishmongers/fish market. The labels were designed to reflect the hand crafted feel of a chalkboard. All the typography was hand drawn and paired with illustrations that highlight the fish type. On the standard plus lines the illustrations change from the fish to that of the flavour or ingredient that comes with the product. e.g. King Prawns with Chilli & Coriander.

Bright colours are used throughout both ranges to differentiate between the fish type and create hierarchy within the product titles and descriptions. The design was able to adapt across several pack formats achieving a consistent look across the range and strong stand out on shelf as well as engaging the consumer.”

Kona Imperial Stout

Pe, 04.05.2012 - 01:54

Designed by Atmosphere Design | Country: Canada

“We’re branding a series of 650ml bottles for Fort Garry Brewing for their Brewmaster Series. Kona Imperial Stout is the second beer in this series.

All these beers are strong in character and we want that reflected in the label designs in a bold, catchy way. With the ACL painted bottle print process we like to keep designs simple and bold so one can pick up the entire message and feel of the product on a single glance and to cut through clutter on the store shelves.”

Student Work – Melanie Chernock

Pe, 04.05.2012 - 01:53

Designed by Melanie Chernock | Country: United States

“One of our assignments was to redesign the packaging for De Cecco, a famous brand of pasta. The brand takes pride in their high quality pasta and Italian heritage. Because De Cecco is so well known and familiar to many, I decided to keep the original logo to offset the very modern redesign. A large window was chosen to emphasize the product while the rustic box and sticker label mimic the homemade packaging of fresh pasta.”

Rahal Farms

Ke, 02.05.2012 - 23:51

Designed by Anderson Design Group | Country: United States

“Back in late fall, architect and farmer Michael Rahal approached us with a branding opportunity. He founded Rahal Farms, which is located in the historic farming village of Fernvale, Tennessee. His farm practices holistic, sustainable land stewardship, compassionate animal husbandry, and educational community outreach in order to produce healthful, delicious and ecologically sound food. The goal of our branding was to suggest artful, healthy, earthy farm-fresh goodness while keeping the happy animals at the forefront. With his hens producing 400 eggs a day, we scrambled (no pun intended) to create an egg carton label so he could start selling his delicious farm-fresh eggs. He was looking for something that would really set his eggs apart on the store shelves and elevate his product above all others in the same category. We achieved this by choosing a colored carton with a wrap-around label that featured custom typography and illustration in complementary colors. The final label was printed on French Speckletone Paper in Cream Cordtone.”

Pacharán Pamplonica

Ti, 01.05.2012 - 11:30

Designed by Contrabriefing | Country: Spain

“Licores Baines reinvents the traditional world of its most famous liquor with Pacharán Pamplonica, a new drink targeting young people that provides a visual challenge on finishing the bottle: the special proposal appears on the inside of the rear label, “El Puto Amo”.”

Dependable

Su, 29.04.2012 - 17:00

Designed by TAXI West | Country: Canada

“In a category known for over designed “flashy” work laced with starbursts, we decided to use simple, straightforward language (including the unconventional device of using actual sentence in the naming structure), a simple colour palate and a bold, graphic, almost utilitarian structure. This was done deliberately to reinforce the core value of dependability that Rocky Mountain Equipment the company possesses within the product itself. After all, dependability doesn’t scream from the rooftops. It just does its job the only way it knows how; the right way.”

Student Work – Mike L. Perry

Pe, 27.04.2012 - 18:04

Designed by Mike L. Perry | Country: United States

“Trail mix packaging for three of the most popular mountains durring the Gold Rush. Packaging includes a thick cardboard outer layer to protect the mix inside along with a heavy duty grommet so that you can attach the mix to your carabiner for your hike.”

”Packaging for a fictional Prohibition themed wine. Given only the name Speakeasy to go off I created a whole identity for two dirty cops durring the prohibition era.”

Hilliard’s

To, 26.04.2012 - 18:20

Designed by Mint Design | Country: United States

“A new artisanal brewery opening in the Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood warranted a sleek contemporary twist on the vernacular of beer culture. A fresh application of a crisp herringbone pattern balances cleanly executed typography, channeling traditional European blackletter in a contemporary way.”
